Welcome to my shop

I hope you enjoy browsing in my shop. All items are made by me, Wendy at The Clayhouse Studio in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. All of my pieces are original work. Every piece is individually handmade using a variety of handbuilding techiques such as slab work, coiling and pinching. I work with grogged stoneware clay which is decorated with underglazes, coloured slips and a range of glazes. The pieces are then fired to stoneware in an electric kiln.  My work is quite sculptural and I’m particularly interested in surface texture and colour. I like that each piece is unique and unrepeatable. I never fail to be fascinated by the transformation from dull powdery unfired glazes to the fired piece. Opening the kiln is always an exciting undertaking.
